We delicately roast, winnow, and minimally grind these antioxidant-rich and bitter beans, yielding a deeply rich flavor profile reminiscent of a robust yet bitter Turkish coffee, topped off with a comforting baked bread finish.
Our transformative ingredient blend incorporates powerful adaptogens such as Chaga extract, known for its potential blood sugar-lowering effects, Reishi extract, celebrated for its immune-boosting properties, and Ashwagandha, reputed for its calming abilities. The bar is further enhanced with a sprinkle of lavado cacao nibs on the back, creating a delightful contrast in both texture and taste.
Historically, Mayans would meticulously hand-grind unfermented washed (lavado) cacao with spices in a Molcajete and then froth the paste with water and sugar in a Molinillo, creating “Xocolatl” – a bitter, ceremonial drink rich in Theobromine. This alkaloid is believed to heighten mystical experiences, leading to its designation as “food of the gods.”
